Wellshire Sous Chef Wins Amateur Division Ice Sculpture Contest!

It was a great day for Wellshire Sous Chef Cesar Pacheco last Sunday.  Cesar wowed the crowds as he carefully carved a mystical sea horse out of a 4ft block of ice at the Red Rocks Country Club Ice Festival.  Cesar not only did an amazing job as his fellow co-workers cheered him on, but Cesar ended up winning the amateur ice sculpting division of the entire festival.  We are very proud of Cesar and his talent.  He is always buzzing around the kitchen making beautiful food carvings that adorn our food platters.  He has also done some original ice sculptures for weddings and private parties...but we are so proud that he has gotten to show his talent to a small portion of the Colorado.  We hope you consider his talent when booking a party at the Wellshire...we'd love to have him carve your very own original ice sculpture for your special day!

Something Old! Something New!

The Wellshire will be starting renovations and additions at the beginning of March merging the old charm of the building with a modernization for the future.  The current plans include: new bathrooms, leveling the floor in the Onyx Lounge to create handicap accessibility and space, new floors throughout, and a brand new Cambridge Room!

The Cambridge Room will be the biggest addition to date and will be even bigger than the room it's replacing.  With all glass enclosed walls and it's own permanent floor, this space will be perfect for weddings, fundraisers, birthdays and more!  Located right off of the 18th green with sweeping views of the golf course and mountains, the Cambridge Room will become the Wellshire's most cherished and coveted addition.  Please stay tuned as more news develops with these exciting changes.

Mountain View Pavilion Closes for the Season

The Wellshire is very proud to announce that the first season of the new Mountain View Pavilion has been a great success; unfortunately, the first season has come to an end.  The City of Denver has ruled that the Mountain View Pavilion may only be used for six months out of the year.  This means that the Mountain View Pavilion will be partially taken down for the months of January, February, March, April, May and November.  Parties may be scheduled for June, July, August, September, October and December.  Because November is such a slow time in the event industry, we have decided to take down the pavilion for that month so that we can use the structure for those wonderful winter-wonderland holiday parties!

We are so pleased with all of the wonderful parties and events we've had in 2010.  We hope that the pavilion was as special to you on your momentous occasion day as it was for us hosting the event.  The Wellshire plans for many more upcoming additions and remodels, so please stay tuned to find out the latest and greatest as we plunge into 2011!!!

Wellshire Loves Stop Motion Animation

With all of the new wedding trends out in 2010, it's hard to find something that is clever, smart and can actually be token reminders of your special day.  Stop motion animation is a fun way to capture your special day without creating a 5 hour long dvd.  No one wants to take half of your anniversary day to actually watch the entire video, that's why stop motion animation is so great.  Stop motion animation videos are no more than about 5 minutes long!  Yes, that's right...your whole wedding day captured in 5 minutes. Amazing!  Take a look at the stop motion animation video below and tell us your thoughts!  We think it's very cool.  Enjoy!
